It is a legal requirement that all who may come across asbestos in their day to day work have been provided with asbestos awareness training.
Asbestos acts as an insulator has good fire protection properties and protects against corrosion. It was extensively used from the 1950s through to the mid-1980s but can be found in buildings built and refurbished up to the year 2000. Even today you may find it in many construction materials and building fittings including ceiling tiles, pipe insulation, boilers and sprayed coatings
Any organisation that allows builders or maintenance personnel onto their premises should ensure that they have evidence of asbestos awareness training.
These courses are fully approved by the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP) and the CPD Certification Service giving you an assurance of quality. The raise awareness of the dangers associated with asbestos so that the risk of exposure can be reduced. The course covers the main hazards, applicable legislation, risk reduction measures and key responsibilities of the individual.

This course is a variation on the Asbestos Awareness course that contains specific information for designers and architects.
